
Applications for the prestigious African Young Women Leaders Fellowship Programme (AfYWL) 2025 are officially closing on June 1, 2025. This competitive and fully funded initiative, powered by the African Union Commission and UNDP, targets talented young African women ready to lead change across the continent.
Designed to foster leadership, innovation, and impact, the fellowship offers selected candidates a 12-month placement with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Fellows will work at UNDP headquarters in New York or in various regional and country offices across Africa.
Who Can Apply?
The fellowship welcomes African women aged 25 to 35 who are:
- Holders of a master’s degree or equivalent in fields such as political science, law, development studies, gender, communication, or data science.
- Experienced professionals with at least two years of relevant work experience.
- Passionate about development, governance, gender equality, and youth empowerment.
